it was 11.30pm since i arrived home.
suddenly, home felt like heaven,
that once ordinary bed, now felt so tempting to lie on.
too bad i had to shower first, after a... 16hrs-day.. = =!?
we had tchouk ball interclass games after sch!
express classes kept complaining, whining, that it was a normal acad's cca..
it wasnt a very fair game.
summore those sec4 normal acad pupils last year that retained in normal classes, had another YEAR of experience..
there wasnt much 'justice'..
oh yar.. and most of the umpires are normal acad coaches..
diffinately there will be some biasness..
we gathered at the concourse before the matches and took a draw.
it was a grp stage then knockout stage thingy [ like soccer],
the team winning the game gets 3points,
draw,2points
and 1 point for a lost.
irfan was the one who drew the lots.
there were 4normal acad classes
and 6express classes..
divided into 2grps of 5,
the 2top classes of the grp moves on to the semi finals..
we had joy,praise,grace and patience!
a veryvery tough grp.
the matches were held in the paradesquare, the whole paradesquare for 1game, 5mins per game..
we were playing at the 3rd game..
and were versusing joy~
we all had massive confidence of winning this match..
and it was probably the only match we could win actually..
as the previous game ended, it was our turn!
my heart was pounding,
wasnt very used to being in the centre of attention of that many spectators~
after a 'siccors paper stone' to whose gona start the ball first,
we finally started our very first game..
leekuang's the middle man and he kept passing the ball to me, totally out of the plan we had in p.e just hrs ago.. as yinghui was SUPPOSED to be the middle man.
we only paved 2routes when we practiced during p.e..
yinghui to jason, jason to kotaro, kotaro to me. and i was suppose to be the shooter.
or yinghui to jason, jason to me, me to kotaro.
so anws, leekuang passed the ball to me straight away, i had to pass to kotaro,
he shot missed the WHOLE target, immediately losing a point unnecessaryly. ~_~
another careless mistake made was when,
leekuang threw the ball to irfan at the other side..
irfan wanted to 'scrape' but hit the frame and bounced back to him.. ~_~
i only shot once, not sure i rmbed whether i scored..
anws, the only game that we thought we shld have won, was dashed - - ..
6-4..
even heard one of the NA ppl shouting..'hahaa i want that game!'
anws, after losing to joy, we were devastated..
i told leekuang the change of plans, stick to that jason kotaro me technique~
it was our turn again after a 30min rest as the other teams played..
normal acad classes were dominating the games.. D:
we were vsing 4praise now.
one of the hardest to defeat.
our confidence were low..
but soared high after taking a 3-0 lead.. (:
i was still nervous, but whenever i got the ball i had this sudden adrenaline rush..
& that was the start of my shooting spree~ :D
but the adrenaline really rocketed through my body whenever a a 4praise shooter shoots the ball, esp ahmad!
because i knew ahmad's shot was gona be powerful and low..
before i knew it, i was volleying the ball up right away, adrenaline really helped my reaction time..
the ball rocketed throught the sky, i didnt know how hard i hit the ball, i only had this mentallity to save truth's butt!
jason caught it thankfully, and the game went on..
one by one, the shots they fire, i was catching them, one by one..
the balls were fast, yet the adrenaline i had seemed to slow it down.
my heart was flying, adrenaline was on my side, me & my team's and confidence grew lightning fast~
every ball they shot was lethal.. as they started to come back up, 6-6, attacking from our weaker side, the opposite end.
i knew if we drew or lost this match, it was practically game over..
7-6, 8-6! we were trailing further ahead. phew~
then the shot that wld almost devastate us all~
time was running out..
if ahmad scored it wld be 8-7, a morale booster for them.
leon backpassed to ahmad again..
immediately, i lined up beside kotaro, knees bent low, hands in the volleying shape.
there he goes, the ball shot right straight to me..
it was slower than i expected it wld be, more catchable than i expected it wld be...
but i just volleyed it up anw..
jason ran to catch it.. haha
he passed to the opposite side and alex scored!! whoo!
winning the game 9-6.. (:
a sweet victory.
dont wish to brag but, almost everybody thought the 'star' in that game, i think the whole team deserved MORE credit..
i wld have kept on shooting if leekuang didnt stuck to the plan..
jason was awesome in catching my crazy volleys..
kotaro with his eye contacts.
we won 4grace, 5-10 the nxt game..
another normal acad class, this time, it was the game that the WHOLE team really played tgt and played well..
each of them did their part.
the scoring of our team's both opposite sides were even.
nxt, 4patience..
vsing our ex class mates,
the game was tight.
1-0,1-1,2-1,2-2 that tight!
alex soh and nicholas scrape shots caught chinteck alexphoon irfan's side off guard..
i cldnt help them as i had to take on hanesh on the opposite side..
my adrenaline from the previous 2games had went down, tiredness set in..
a win in this match wld set us through to the semi's!
hanesh shots were rock hard.
and i made quite a few mistakes BY volleying the ball higher..
my teammates cld have caught those shots if i hadnt lift them higher..
hanesh caught most of my shots too,
expected from his 4years goal-keeping experience~ - -
we lost 7-8 in the end..
a very dangerous position to be in.
but patience had a game in hand, if they won praise or drew with them, we wld have been through to the semis with patience, knocking both normal acad classes that were in our grp out! :D
there was belief for the first time that we wld win this tchouk ball competition..
however, patience lost 9-10 a last minute goal that dashed our hopes! x.x
it was insane..
anws, we exceeded ppl's expectations of our class, even our own expectations!
winning 2normal acad classes, back to back, thrashing them!
for that, it was job well done for the whole team!!! whoo!
the girls made it to the semifinals,
but lost the 3rd place position and finished 4th..
i felt they were excellent!
playing with them during the p.e lesson we had before the games, really kinda.. let us down.. hahah..
but really.. getting to play the semi's was beyond excellent!! =D
for the boys,
patience, the only express class in the semi's finished 3rd!
agape got 2nd
and hope was 1st.
for the girls,
grace had 3rd,
peace 2nd
and love 1st.
though we didnt win any medals, we proved ourselves a strong-willed team~ =P
a stronger-willed class! 4truth all the way! whoo!
